Justin Timberlake releases ambitious “Mirrors” music video

Coinciding with the release of his new album The 20/20 Experience, Justin Timberlake yesterday released the video for “MIrrors.”

Some info from Billboard.com:

The clip opens with a dedication to William and Sadie, apparently a nod to Timberlake’s grandparents. Floria Sigismondi, who helmed “The Runaways, is the director.

The arrival of “Mirrors” coincides with the release of Timberlake’s third solo effort, “The 20/20 Experience,” which is expected to shift more than half a million copies in its first week. The second volume is expected to arrive later this year.

Dragonette releases “Run, Run, Run” video

Here’s something you might know about me: Dragonette is the only act so far that I’ve seen live twice. The first time was during the closing ceremonies of the Outgames in Vancouver — the second time was at VENUE just recently. Obviously I’m a fan.

I have a love-hate relationship with their new video “Run, Run, Run” though. The Drew Lightfoot-directed video captures the vibe of the song, but it gets boring too. There’s something artsy about lead singer Martina Sorbara “running” through crowded city streets, although the video lacks a plot or conflict to keep things interesting.

Tegan & Sara release “Now I’m All Messed Up” lyric video

“Now I’m All Messed Up,” one of the highlights of the stellar Heartthrob album, gets a lyric video today.

On their Tumblr page, Tegan & Sara revealed why they decided to create the video:

As soon as we started playing the songs from Heartthrob live at shows, “Now I’m All Messed Up” emerged as a major fan favourite. It’s nearly impossible to not get caught up in the feelings of the song when performing it, so it’s very fun to see the entire crowd be drawn in as we lay it all out there on the stage! Things get emotional!

We wanted to bring that same level of emotion to the lyric video for the song, and we really think we achieved that with the unique ink and water treatment that brings to mind writing a good old fashioned heartbreaking letter and sobbing all over it! We were excited to be working with Travis Hopkins again who created the lyric video for Closer, he did such a great job, we love it and hope you do too!

Personally, I LIVE for this song, so I’m not surprised it’s getting a lot of attention from fans. Would be cool to see it as a single at one point.
