I was listening to a random Spotify playlist last week when I heard an insanely catchy song. And I knew then that I just heard 2015’s first contender for song of the summer.
Carly Rae Jepsen released her comeback single this week, and the pop world is impressed. Similar to her mega-hit “Call Me Maybe,” Jepsen’s new single “I Really Like You” is catchy—like, ridiculously, over-the-top catchy. No surprise that people really like it. (Lame pun intended.)
If you’re not ready yet for Kelly Clarkson’s new album, you better change that soon because the “Heartbeat Song” diva is ready to unleash it to the world. Piece By Piece will be released in North America on Tuesday, March 3rd, but Clarkson has been giving fans a sneak peek this week, releasing tracks on iTunes and sharing a couple of songs on VH1.com.
It’s (literally) less than two weeks before the release of Kelly Clarkson’s Piece by Piece, but we haven’t heard much new music so far from the project with the exception of “Heartbeat Song.” That should change quickly in the next few days as Amazon is expected to release one song each day in the next week.
So, this weekend, Rihanna—queen of RnB/pop/dance, sometimes model and ultimate bad girl—casually dropped a new single, “FourFiveSeconds.” The song features Kanye West and Sir Paul McCartney.

People are freaking out about the song, not just because it’s the first glimpse into Ri Ri’s next album, but also because it’s so different from what she’s done before. No thumpin’ beat, no heavy production. Just an acoustic guitar.
But there’s at least one media outlet that’s not impressed: Slant Magazine.
