Just a few days after releasing the “Problem” video, Natalia Kills unveils the music video for “Saturday Night.”
In the very personal video, Kills enters and re-enters her parents’ bedroom as we learn more about their tumultuous relationship. Donning three different—but similar—elegant, off-white dresses (sans bra), Kills looks elegant and respectable, not allowing her look to overshadow the video’s story.

The emotional track reveals the private side of Natalia, who sings about growing up in a home with domestic abuse. Kills sings “Momma you’re beautiful tonight / movie star hair and that black eye” and “You don’t know what it’s like to be 17 and have no place to go” on the Jeff Bhasker producer track. The serious subject matter is contrasted with the uptempo, 80s synth beat, creating a visceral listening experience.
Showing her versatility with the first two singles alone, Trouble, set to be released on September 3, is gearing up to be one of the best albums of 2013.
I don’t know about y’all, but I’m freakin’ excited for Trouble.
