2013 was another memorable year in music. It was the year that brought us Miley’s twerking, Bieber’s shenanigans, and Beyoncé’s surprise album. (Feel free to play the Rdio playlist below.)
Here are the pop singles that stood out in the crowd this unforgettable year:
23. “Same Love” – Macklemore & Ryan Lewis feat. Mary Lambert
Hip-hop isn’t exactly known as the most gay-friendly musical genre—which makes the success of “Same Love” even more significant this year.
Just a few days after releasing the “Problem” video, Natalia Kills unveils the music video for “Saturday Night.”
In the very personal video, Kills enters and re-enters her parents’ bedroom as we learn more about their tumultuous relationship. Donning three different—but similar—elegant, off-white dresses (sans bra), Kills looks elegant and respectable, not allowing her look to overshadow the video’s story.
It must have been fun to shoot “Problem.” The latest Natalia Kills video doesn’t steer away from the song’s lyrics—it’s about being trouble!
So I’m not gonna lie — I’ve heard of Natalia Kills before but never bothered listening to her stuff, thinking that she’s just part of the generic Euro Trash movement. As it turns out, I’ve been missing out because she’s fantastic.
